S-Cape Travel: environmental projects

S-Cape Travel plans tours on foot, by bike, cultural and enogastronomic tours in France, Greece, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and other European countries. We are specialized in organizing self-guided tours, small-group tours, family travels and customized experiences.

Through its brand Italian Bike Tours and sloWays, S-Cape Travel offers alternative journeys, by riding a bike or on foot, to be even more immersed in the nature surrounding us and leaving it undisturbed.

S-Cape Travel, together with Rete Clima, has offset the CO2 and greenhouse gases’ emissions of the travels performed in 2021, by supporting the Allain Duhangan Hydropower Plant project thanks to the retirement of its carbon credits.

This project was born with the intent of reducing the dependance of Northern India from fossil fuels: the project supports in fact the management of the Allain Duhangan Hydropower Plant, that generates enough energy for the Region by protecting the natural uncontaminated habitat of the district of Kullu, State of Pradesh.

S-Cape Travel supported a reforestation project at Madonie Park to support the redevelopment of areas affected by summer fires last summer 2021.

Reforestation at the Madonie Park is part of Foresta Italia, Rete Clima's new National Forestation Campaign that kicked off in spring 2022 in partnership with Coldiretti and PEFC.

S-Cape Travel, as part of its active collaboration with Rete Clima has also neutralized CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions from trips made in 2022 by supporting the VCS 1088 - 4.2 MW Wind Power Project by National Enterprises in Tamil Nadu, India, which involves the generation of renewable energy from two Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) with a total installed capacity of 4.2 Mega-Watts (MW) (2.1 MW X 2), contributing to less fossil fuel use.The carbon offset projects supported by S-Cape Travel participate in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program - Verra:

The collaboration between S-Cape Travel and Rete Clima also continues in 2023.

During the month of June 2023, with the team of Rete Clima, S-Cape Travel has planted in Sesto (BZ) in Val Pusteria, 45 plants including trees and shrubs to reforest an area affected by wind and snow crashes caused by storm Vaia in 2018, by heavy snowfalls that occurred between 2019 and 2020, and later also by Bostrico (Ips typographus) damage, which felled thousands of trees. A high-value project on the Italian alpine territory, contributing to the goals of renaturalization of an area affected by natural disasters.

The reforestation activity carried out by S-Cape Travel is part of Foresta Italia, the Rete Clima's National Forestation Campaign that launched in spring 2022.
